Dr. Brandi Farrell is a double board-certified primary and acute care pediatric nurse practitioner and an assistant professor in the School of Nursing at UT Health San Antonio. During her 17-year career as a pediatric nurse practitioner, Dr. Farrell has practiced at several of the nation’s premier pediatric hospitals including: Doernbecher Children’s Hospital; Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia; Children’s National Medical Center; Temple Children’s Medical Center; Cook Children’s Medical Center; and Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas. Farrell’s specialty focus is pediatric trauma, emergency care, and critical care with a specialization in child maltreatment. Her current nursing research interests include child trafficking; pediatric trauma/burns; and nurse practitioner scope of practice.
